*Disclaimer: All of my Halloween pictures have mysteriously disappeared. Vanished from my phone, computer…gone. All I have are poor-quality, cropped screenshots of the couple I’ve uploaded to instagram and facebook, and one of Alden in his elephant costume. While breastfeeding. Because, of course. Sorry about that.*
This Halloween I was feeling a distinct lack of any motivation to do…pretty much anything. I didn’t want to make costumes. I didn’t want to work extra shifts to afford to buy costumes they would just change their minds about at the last minute. Honestly, all I really wanted to do was sleep and gorge myself on chocolate candy bars. So when it came time for costumes, I did what any sane, unambitious mother would do: I raided the dress up bin. I pulled out anything that could be considered a complete costume and would fit one of the girls and told them to take their pick.
Alden, being taller than his sisters were at his age, would fit perfectly in the plush elephant costume the girls had each worn the year they turned one. Win!
Zoey decided pretty quickly that she wanted to be a witch this year. It went through a couple variations before the final decision was made:
I coaxed Eleanor into trying on a couple of costumes from my childhood:
In the end, we had Snow White and the Evil Witch:
There was much candy and rejoicing and all was well with the world.
