Tomorrow I turn thirty. Sigh.

Well twenties, its been fun. You saw me move out of my parents’ house. Share an apartment with a friend and then get a place all on my own. Get accepted to and then graduate from nursing school. Meet the man whom I could never walk away from or live without. Take an epic vacation to Costa Rica with my mom. Start my career as a nurse. Become pregnant. Get married and have a whirlwind Maui honeymoon. Become a mom. Then become pregnant again. Have a successful VBAC, the single most amazing and empowering thing I have ever done. Become a stay-at-home mom, a roll I never thought I would play.

Yes, twenties, you have been good to me. Oh so very good. I don’t think there will ever be another decade of my life with quite so many major, happy events. But, you know, the thirties are looking pretty good all the same.

I’m looking forward to more babies. To my girls starting pre-school and then kindergarten and then real school. To buying a minivan rocket-ship and shopping for our own house. To macaroni projects brought home from school that say “Best Mom In The World.” To teaching my children so many amazing things, like how to roller skate and ride a bike. To celebrating five and then ten years of marriage to the most amazing, patient, intelligent and kind man I have ever known. To restarting my career. To traveling to new places and family vacations.

Yes, thirties, you have a lot to offer. I’m looking forward to spending time with you, making memories. Just don’t go too fast, okay?
